He is a vice chairman of Pakistan Tanner's association (North zone) Mehmood Group industries focused on Textile & Tanneries. In 1971 this group established Mehmood Textile, in 1990. His group established his first weaving unit, 1999 they established Masood Fabrics & 2003, another Textile Mills. Under the name of Roomi Fabrics. Khawaja M. Ilyas did not neglect the social responsibilities.
